SAGE About Us

SAGE Metro St. Louis incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in June of 2008. This effort is the result of over two years of work and research by a group of LGBT advocates and professionals. SAGE Metro St. Louis joins the SAGENet affiliation as the 9th SAGE organization in the United States. The founding SAGE located in New York City recently celebrated their 30th Anniversary and is the oldest not-for-profit organization dedicated specifically to the service and advocacy of LGBT older adults.

SAGE Metro St. Louis operates independently, with control of programming and budget maintained by a local board of directors and staff. The SAGENet affiliation provides us with a network of LGBT older adults, community advocates and professionals dedicated to serving the needs of LGBT older adults in our local communities.
