SAGE Metro St. Louis is a 501(c)(3) corporation whose mission is to: Enhance the quality of life of LGBT older adults through service, advocacy and community awareness. We are excited to announce that we are seeking an addition of two to three board of directors.
SAGE Metro St. Louis has, since its formation in 2008, maintained that its board of directors must reflect the diversity within our community. We encourage all community members and allies with an interest in the work and continued growth of SAGE Metro St. Louis to submit an application.
As we enter the second full year of service, SAGE is in a position of growth, not only in our services, but also our board of directors. We are recruiting board members from a diverse array of places and organizations throughout the community. Every application will be considered, be we are especially interested in community members age 55+. Additional opportunities to serve on the SAGE Advisory Council and board committees may be available. Board interviews for open positions will begin in March.
A quote heard recently from SAGE USA rings true for SAGE Metro St. Louis as well, "If you are someone who cares about GLBT aging, then you are a member of SAGE." The work we do today impacts us all, if not today, then in the future as we are all aging.
